FAQs
When is the best time to book a maternity session?
The most beautiful time to photograph maternity is typically between 30–36 weeks of pregnancy. During this stage your bump is beautifully defined, while you’re usually still comfortable enough to move and enjoy the experience.
Because sunset sessions are limited and scheduled around the best light, I recommend booking several weeks in advanceto secure a date.
What should I wear to my maternity session?
Your comfort and confidence are the most important things. Flowing gowns, soft fabrics and neutral tones photograph beautifully in natural light and help create the timeless, emotive feel that my work is known for.
I am gradually building a client wardrobe, and I’m also happy to offer guidance if you would like help choosing an outfit. You’re always welcome to bring something meaningful to you as well.
What happens if my baby arrives earlier than expected?
Pregnancy can be wonderfully unpredictable, and I completely understand that babies sometimes have their own plans.
If your baby arrives earlier than expected and your maternity session cannot go ahead, we can convert your booking into a newborn or motherhood session instead. Your retainer and payment will simply transfer across to the new session.
My goal is to make the experience flexible and supportive, so that your memories are still beautifully captured.
What happens if the weather isn’t suitable on the day?
Outdoor sessions rely on beautiful natural light, so if the weather isn’t suitable — such as heavy wind or rain — we will simply reschedule to the next available date.
I always keep a close eye on the forecast leading up to your session and will communicate with you if any changes need to be made. My priority is ensuring we capture your session in the most beautiful conditions possible.
Can my partner or children be included in the session?
Absolutely. Including your partner and children can create some of the most meaningful images, celebrating the anticipation of welcoming your baby together.
Sessions are gently guided, relaxed and natural, allowing space for connection while still creating beautiful, intentional imagery.
How do payments and bookings work?
To secure your session, a retainer is required within 24 hours of booking. This retainer reserves your date and covers the time set aside for your session, and is therefore non-refundable.
The remaining balance for your session is due two business days prior to your photoshoot. Once your gallery is delivered, you will have the opportunity to select your included images and purchase additional photographs if you wish.

How many images will I receive, and can I purchase more?
Your session type includes a set number of professionally edited digital images of your choice.
After your photoshoot, you’ll receive a private online proof gallery where you can view your images and select your favourites for final editing.
If you fall in love with more images (which many families do), additional photographs are available for purchase:
• Single image: $30
• 5 additional images: $125
• Gallery upgrade: $250
Upgrades can be selected once you’ve viewed your gallery, so there is no pressure to decide in advance.
